Julie (Juliette Binoche) returns to Paris after visiting her country estate, taking only one item from there - a blue chandelier that hung in her daughter's room. The scene did not appear in the film. There are bloody abrasions on Julie's right hand, traces of her dragging her hand along the stone fence in a moment of anger and despair.
